Playing golf at the Panshanger golf club provide golfers with a first class experience. This park like course is situated in Hertfordshire in Welwyn Garden City. The 18 hole, 72 par, championship accredited course is spread over 6300 yards with beautiful scenery of the Mimram Valley. Due to the excellent maintenance through out the year professional, experienced, and novice golfers enjoy to hit some balls there.
During the construction of the course in 1975 the objective was to provide a challenge for serious golfers with advanced skills but also help to improve the skills of leisure or beginner golfers. Renovations and upgrading work was done recently which make this venue even more attractive. If you did not play there recently, a visit is highly recommended. It is worthy to note that you will not play up to your handicap for the first time and even more so when the wind is blowing. During April to September is the best time to play there.
The extra facilities comprises of a comfortably sized practicing area, a 9 hole pitch, putting course, and a putting green. The Junior Club and the Panshanger Club are managed separately from the course and other facilities on the premises. The golf and junior club does not fall under the management of the Welwyn Hatfield Council who are responsible for the maintenance of the course and other facilities such as the Fairway Tavern, Pro Shop, Banqueting hall, and squash courts.
Those who want to taste a traditional ale can visit the Fairway Tavern and enjoy a fine meal there as well. Delightful food and drink in a wide variety can be enjoyed there. The Pro Shop stock high quality branded products and equipment to cater for the most discerning golfer.
