Celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, tennis fanatics from all corners of the globe will flock to London for the astounding Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Whether it's part of a longer break or tailor-made holidays specifically for the tennis, tourists fall in love with the tradition of a glass of Pimms and strawberries and cream whilst watching the tennis.

There are many options available for you if you're not lucky enough to get a ticket in the official ballot but be prepared to queue if you want a ticket on the day. An early start and steely determination is necessary, but if you're not one of the chosen few to buy one of the 500 tickets on the day, then all is not lost. If you've purchased tickets but not to the 'show' matches, you'll be able to soak up the atmosphere on 'Henman Hill', named after Tim Henman, and watch the matches on a large screen there.

A guided tour around the grounds will add a tennis element to cheap holidays to London, even if you're unable to buy tickets for any of the matches. Taking you on a behind-the-scenes journey through the most recognised tennis ground in the world, the tour lasts an hour and a half. Admission to the museum is also included in the tour, where you can explore the game's evolution from a fun-filled pastime to the sport it is today.

You'll be able to explore more of London as a whole, if you need a break from rackets, tennis balls and civilised spectating. With many restaurants, bars and cafes to enjoy in the Wimbledon area, you'll always have something to do and you can even experience some al-fresco picnicking in the gorgeous parks and commons.

The best of the capital is just a short 30 minute tube journey away, which will take you into central London. You'll be able to see a show in the West End, visit top tourist attractions such as Madame Tussaud's and London Zoo or simply enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city on your cheap holiday deals.
