postheadericon The Real Way To Improving Your Golf Swing

If you want to improve your golf swing then also consider other things beyond using much strength when hitting the ball or making use of items such as power bands. While Power bands may actually help you enhancing and improving your balance, there might be other factors that you should consider if you want to achieve great results. While strength is necessary in golf swing, the way you swing the club matters more. Hitting the ball far is possible without techniques but you will end up sliced or drawn to either side of the fairway. Your muscles will also wear out if you rely on strength when swinging.

If you really desire to improve your golf swing then you should first master your stance. Take note of some facts on physics, for instance, when your feet are too close to one another you are not able to hit the ball far. Thus, you should see to it to spread your feet shoulder width apart when using the driver. And when moving through your irons, you should have those feet closer and closer.

For your hands, they should be in the correct position as you begin your back swing. The correct position is with your thumbs pointing directly downwards in front of you as you grip the club. When that club reaches waist level, your thumbs should be pointing up to the sky (the so-called hitchhiker position).

When you do a backswing have your right knee, right hip and right leg solid but with slight flex and do the same only on the left if you are left-handed. Take this stiffer hip and leg as your pivot and twist your upper body against it. The weight should rest on the right foot once you are at the top of your backswing. But do not have your left leg give way. Simply have it go with the movement.

When moving onto transition, begin your backswing, twist your body, pause for a split second at the top, then begin the downswing. Take these like a mantra that you must practice in a pattern. Avoid swinging fast. See to it that you maintain the exact rhythmic pacing. Doing this prevents cocking and jerking the wrist shortly.

When doing the down swing have your left hip move naturally to the left without moving your arms in advance of your body. The arms and body should move like one unit as long as you can until it reaches your waist. Slightly tilt your body to the right as needed. Then keep in mind to hit through the ball and not simply stop movement dead when striking it. Have the swing carry on naturally.

The final thing to remember is that golf is a game of consistency. If you can make even one kind of swing well, and do it the same way every time, that will certainly help you improve your game. Unfortunately, the only way to make a swing consistent is to pay attention to ALL the little things that make up that swing. Identify and correct those little things one move at a time. With enough discipline, your muscles will remember the right moves, and execute it at the right moment in your game to make you win.
