by Anne Harvester

Tee time is a word commonly used when it comes to golf. It can be defined as the time allocated to a group of golfers or an individual golfer to play. These can also be time slots allocated to the players regarding on what specific times they should take their shots on the golf course. To book these tee times the group of players 'make reservations either at the golf shops of the particular golf courses or visit the websites. These websites have reservation services that offer remote opportunities to book appointments.

The golf courses are usually in charge of assigning the golf tee times at which a specific group is to play. If a particular group does not turn up at that particular moment no exceptions are made. Every course has different schedules for the time slots. It is usually required that the golfers make these appointments as a measure of order and maintain good flow of the game while avoiding collision and confusion.

Though not necessary, it is usually advised that before one plans to visit a golf course for the first time they should call the course ahead of time to get information about their reservation services and polices. This can help the person avoid waiting at the course for hours to get a chance to play.

There are usually short time intervals of around eight to fifteen minutes between the golf course tee times. This allows player to get sufficient rest and time before they start their next play. However as said before if there is a delay in reaching the course during the allotted time you might lose your space.

It is also required that the group making the reservation specifies the number of people in their group. This helps in informing the administration on the capacity of golfers they would be accommodating. During the reservation the golfers might also be advised to inform the office whether they might be renting other equipment such as clubs or a cart just to avoid inconveniences on the golfers' case.

If one chooses to book tee time in a golf shop, there is the advantage of having the shop attendants who provide extra information regarding the booking. This may include the appropriate time to book especially when the golf course is not busy. They also inform the golfer on how the course conducts its matches and what amount they impose during registration.

The rates for reserving a tee time vary from one course to another. It also depends on the fact that if its a peak season or not, or whether the course is offering some kind of discount to the players. All of this information can easily be asked from the attendants. Credit cards are usually the main monetary form of payment but this again depends on the administration.

Each golf course has a set of policies regarding reservations which must be followed by the all the golfers. Some of these policies are lenient while others might be strict, for instance a golfer might be charged a fee for cancelling his tee time or maybe required to book way in advance.
